Polly Smith, a watercolor painter, loves to paint "en plein air", aka outside on location.  As a gardener herself, she is especially drawn to farm and garden scenes.  Polly trained with various artists in Massachusetts (Mick Watson) and Maine (Maureen Lawler, Dewitt Hardy and Russel Whitten) before moving to North Carolina.  Now, she receives critiques from Mitch Baird through the Tucson Art Academy.  She exhibited and sold works through various art shows in Maine before moving to North Carolina.  She is a member of the North Carolina Watercolor Society.  Polly has been a Briar Chapel resident and a member of the garden club for three years.  In 2024, Polly donated her art work to the garden club to make and sell note cards and prints as a fundraiser for the club.
